What to Expect

I suggest committing to 4-6 sessions as this commitment increases the likelihood of meeting your goals for positive change. In our first 1-2 sessions, I will invite you to share your story and your reasons for seeking therapy. We will assess your strengths and challenges and define your goals.


Next, I will introduce you to some CBT and mindfulness principles and we will begin to apply them to your situation.  We may design some ‘homework' for you to work on between sessions, usually in the form of practicing different skills.  We will continually monitor your progress with the expectation that you will leave therapy thinking, feeling, and acting in ways that support a rich and fulfilling life.

If you decide that our counselling relationship is not a good fit for you, we can end our work together at any time.  Similarly, if you choose to set additional goals, or just appreciate the support and guidance you receive from regular therapy, we can continue meeting as long as you like.
